Key Significance

First issue of Malibu Comics’ Street Fighter comic series based on Capcom’s hugely successful video game franchise. Features early comic appearances of Ryu, Chun-Li, M. Bison, Balrog and Ken in one of the first ongoing Western comic adaptations of the property.

Description

Street Fighter #1 was published by Malibu Comics in 1993 during the peak of the Street Fighter II phenomenon. The issue introduces the world-famous fighters from Capcom’s arcade and console hit, bringing Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Balrog and M. Bison into the comic-book medium. As the debut issue of the series, it remains one of the more collectible Street Fighter comics from the 1990s and is sought after by both comic collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts. This copy presents very well with vibrant colours, strong gloss and excellent eye appeal. Minor handling wear is visible, but no major defects are apparent from the front cover image. Based on the image provided, the comic appears to be in approximately VF/NM (9.0) condition. A desirable key issue for fans of fighting games and 1990s licensed comics.
