Key Significance
Classic early Marvel Transformers issue featuring Shockwave in one of the most memorable covers of the original series. Part of the highly collectible first year of Marvel’s Transformers run, based on the iconic Hasbro toy line and animated franchise.
Description
The Transformers #5, published by Marvel Comics in June 1985, continues the original Marvel Transformers saga and features a striking Shockwave cover with the ominous phrase “Are All Dead.” Written by Bob Budiansky with artwork by Don Perlin, the issue expands the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons during the formative years of the franchise. The dark, atmospheric cover has become a fan favourite among collectors of vintage Transformers comics. This copy displays strong colours, solid gloss and excellent presentation. Minor handling wear and light edge wear are visible, but the book appears clean overall with no major defects evident from the front cover image. Based on the image provided, the comic appears to be in approximately VF (8.0) condition. A desirable early-series Transformers issue with strong nostalgia appeal and a standout Shockwave cover.
