DC Comics Batman #512, published in November 1994, marks the beginning of the Prodigal storyline, with Part One of the crossover event. Written by Doug Moench with artwork by Mike Gustovich and José Tanghal, this issue features a dramatic cover by Kelley Jones showcasing Batman confronting Killer Croc in the Gotham sewers.
Following the events of Knightfall and KnightsEnd, the Prodigal storyline sees Dick Grayson temporarily take on the mantle of Batman while Bruce Wayne continues his recovery. As Gotham faces renewed threats, the new Batman is immediately tested against some of the city’s most dangerous villains, making this an important chapter in one of the defining Batman story arcs of the 1990s.
