Description
Grand Theft Auto III is an open-world action-adventure game for the Sony PlayStation 2, released in Europe in 2001. Set in the sprawling Liberty City, the game follows a silent criminal protagonist as he works his way through the city’s underworld, completing missions for gangs and other criminal organisations.
The game was developed by DMA Design, later known as Rockstar North, and published by Rockstar Games. Grand Theft Auto III marked the series’ landmark transition to a fully 3D open world, combining driving, exploration, combat and mission-based gameplay.
