Justice League of America #77 (1969) Silver Age DC Comics – Betraying the Justice League Cover

Key Significance

Classic Silver Age Justice League issue featuring the memorable “Betraying the Justice League!” cover. Features appearances by Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Black Canary, The Atom and other Justice League members. A popular late-Silver Age issue with strong cover appeal and mystery-story intrigue.

Description

Justice League of America #77, published by DC Comics in December 1969, presents one of the more striking mystery covers of the Silver Age as an apparently ordinary man reveals himself as the last person the Justice League would suspect of betrayal. Written by Dennis O’Neil with artwork from Dick Dillin and Sid Greene, the issue reflects the transition period between the Silver and Bronze Ages while retaining the classic team dynamic that made Justice League a flagship DC title. This copy retains bright colours and solid eye appeal despite visible age-related wear. Noticeable defects include corner wear, edge wear, spine stress, tanning along the cover edges, distributor price markings and general handling wear. Based on the front cover image, the comic appears to grade approximately VG (4.0). A collectible Silver Age Justice League issue with a highly recognizable cover concept.
